A Letter from the new Amir

FROM THE AMIR OF BALAGASH

To Captain Eager
Greetings Englishman.  Your heroism is much honoured in South Sudistan and has not been besmirched much by your rapid retreat.

I, Mustapha Thalot, have had the privilege to succeed my esteemed brother as Amir of the Balagashi.  But just because my I and my brother fought you in the past, we do not have to be enemies.  Now that you have withdrawn the English Army from Mahaba, there is no need to fight over these lands.

You are no doubt concerned about the English civilians you abandoned in your flight.  Do not worry they are safe and being taken care of.  Arrangements are being made to escort them to Gohar.  As unbelievers they cannot stay in this holy land.  Do not interfere in this operation.  If we were to be threatened by English forces before we could evacuate the civilians, we would have to terminate this internal threat to our security.

Once we have evacuated the civilians to Gohar, you will ensure they promptly return to England along with all other civilians in Southern Sudistan, you may then withdraw your troops as well.  As long as you cooperate we shall not attack you.

Yours magnanimously

Mustapha Thalot
Amir of Balagash
